BMEE Calls for Local Filmmakers

Blue Mountains Filmmakers are being asked their views on the industry for a local submission to be made by Blue Mountains Economic Enterprises, with a meeting scheduled this Tuesday.

According to BMEE, The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Communications and the Arts has commenced an inquiry into factors contributing to the growth and sustainability of the Australian film and television industry.

As the peak regional economic development agency for the Blue Mountains, Blue Mountains Economic Enterprise (BMEE) is creating a submission on behalf of local filmmakers and TV producers.

According to BMEE co-ordinator Ann Niddrie, BMEE is conducting a series of one-on-one interviews as part of this process. "We are also inviting professionals from within the film and TV industry to contribute to the submission at a public meeting next week."

"Come and share your ideas for how the Australian film and TV industry can grow and how the Blue Mountains can benefit from a more sustainable and competitive industry."

When: Tuesday 21st March
Time: 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Where: BMEE offices (small cottage in carpark behind Blue Mountains City Council)

BMEE encourages individuals to also make their own submission by Friday 31st March.
