Blue Mountains film club Alphabet Soup Cinema is presenting a Katoomba screening of Milk in support of IDAHOT on Sat 8 April at 8pm.
Based on the inspiring true story of one of the world's first openly-gay politicians, this compelling film follows the story of Harvey Milk and his powerful journey paving the way for equality.
Starring Sean Penn and directed by Gus Van Sant, Milk was was nominated for eight Academy Awards, winning two, in 2009. The film endures today as a classic about gay rights and equality.
100 per cent of profits from this screening at Katoomba's Carrington Hotel will benefit IDAHOT Blue Mountains, which will mark the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia in Katoomba on Wednesday, May 17.
All tickets (just $10 concession, $15 full price) include a complimentary glass of bubbly on arrival. Guests are very welcome to stay after the film for a social catch-up in the Carrington's Champagne Charlies bar.
